Staff and children at Kids Planet Day Nursery in Brampton took part in a carol service this month with residents from a Chesterfield residential care home.

Speaking about the visit, Lauren Jade Burton, Deputy Manager at Chatsworth Lodge Care Home said: “Our residents have thoroughly loved a visit from the nursery children. It has put a smile on everyone’s face. From everyone at Chatsworth Lodge , thankyou all so much”.

The children’s nursery, formally Clever Crocs Day Nursery part of the Excellence in Childcare group, was acquired by family-owned Kids Planet group in April 2019 along with 4 other nurseries in the Chesterfield area.

With 44 nurseries across the North West and Midlands, the group recognise the benefits that come from intergenerational activity with many nurseries forging positive relationships with care homes in their local communities.

Acting Nursery Manager at Kids Planet Brampton, Jade Race said: “We feel that it’s beneficial for our children to go across to the care home so that the children get a sense of community. It’s lovely to see different generations mix and enjoy each others’ company. Our children love to visit and make the residents smile.”
