Chester Zoo Summer Stampede

Kids Planet and Kids Allowed are deeply saddened by the recent news regarding Chester Zoo. We are raising money by taking part in a Sponsored Summer Stampede by walking, skipping, jumping, hopping, dancing and moving the distance from our nurseries to Chester Zoo. We will also be taking part in numerous other activities across the next couple of weeks. Collectively we are hoping to cover over 1700 miles across our settings.

Chester Zoo was opened in 1931, it currently has over 35,000 animals and 128 acres of land to explore. It is the most visited zoo in the UK with 2 million visitors young and old visiting throughout the year. With over 500 staff caring for animals, running conservation projects and providing an inspirational day out to all. As a conservation charity, 97% is relied on by donations to continue their hard work and to look after each and every animal. Due to COVID-19 and the forced temporary closure of Chester Zoo, they are now desperate to raise funds – £1.6 million a month to be exact!

The money raised will be used to adopt Chester Zoo’s animals, which our children in each nursery setting will choose themselves. We’d love for all our children to get involved as well as those currently not attending nursery. Sponsorship forms are available here to download ChesterZoo sponsorship form
