Over £600 raised for Ronald McDonald House Charities

Kids Planet Preston

Kids Planet Preston have raised £616 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

For the past 30 years the charity have supported families by providing free family accommodation just a stone’s throw away from their child’s hospital.

Speaking about the event, Community Fundraiser, Alice Beck said: “On behalf of Ronald McDonald House Charities UK, I just want to say a big thank you to Kids Planet Preston for their continued support, helping to raise money to provide free ‘home away from home’ accommodation to families with children in hospital. We have 11 Houses across the UK, including the branch’s closest House in Manchester, which is there for families during some of the most toughest times of their lives, allowing them to be just moments away from their child’s bedside. As an independent charity, we rely on the generosity of our donors and volunteers, so it’s great to see people across our communities supporting a charity close to their hearts. It’s a cause which many families can relate to – whenever their child has been poorly or had a visit to hospital, they may have needed facilities just like what our Houses offer. It’s heart-warming to see parents and children coming together to raise money for other children and families in need, so we’re incredibly grateful for this donation which is enough to provide 24 nights of accommodation to a family in need.

Kids Planet CEO, Clare Roberts said: “We are thrilled and extremely proud of our Preston nursery by what they have raised. It is great to be able to support such a worthwhile charity which helps families at such a difficult time with a really important needed facility.
