Our preschool children take pride in helping their local area, taking part in monthly community litter picks. These hands-on experiences help nurture a sense of responsibility, teamwork, and environmental awareness, showing that even the smallest hands can make a big difference. Through activities like this, we support children to become kind, active citizens from the very start.
About Us
Kids Planet Hanford
Kids Planet Hanford prides itself on providing the highest quality of childcare for babies through to preschoolers. With over 50 years of combined experience, our highly qualified and passionate team create a warm, nurturing environment where children can play, learn, and explore with confidence, supported by natural resources and child-led learning opportunities.
Children benefit from regular access to nearby green spaces, where we enjoy yoga sessions in the fresh air. We’re proud to have achieved ECO accreditation and are committed to sustainable practices throughout the nursery, including our gardening club, which helps little ones learn about nature and where their food comes from. We also offer a parent and children’s lending library, encouraging families to share stories and foster a love of reading together at home.
Our PANCo (Physical Activity and Nutrition Coordinator) leads weekly sports sessions, encouraging healthy lifestyles, while our baking club introduces children to fun, healthy recipes using ingredients we grow ourselves. We also run Boogie Mites music and movement sessions weekly and offer Little Athletes sports sessions each term, both available to children attending on the day.
Families are always welcome, with regular stay and play sessions held termly (and often more frequently), giving parents, carers, and wider family the chance to share in the celebrations and milestones of their little ones. And for those popping in or dropping off, our cosy tea and coffee station is always ready for a warm drink and a quick catch-up.

ManagerI have worked in Hanford since 2005 working in various roles and completing several qualifications. "I am passionate about children's mental health and well-being, continuing Hanford's involvement in available accreditations, our commitment to the Eco initiative, and community involvement. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my huge family, where there is never a dull moment, traveling with my husband and taking long walks with our dog Steve!"
