About Heaton Mersey
Children at Kids Planet Heaton Mersey can discover nature right on their doorstep, with our nursery set by a nature reserve. Younger children enjoy riverside walks, while older groups explore through den building and Woodland Adventures. An outdoor classroom and allotment give them more opportunities to learn through doing.
Our Grandparents Gardening Club brings generations together around shared experiences. Sensory play and sports sessions add to the day, with support adapted for children with additional needs. We care for babies through to preschoolers, helping each child get involved at their own pace. Links to Stockport and Manchester make us convenient for families travelling locally.

Stephen Neville (maternity cover)
ManagerHi! My name is Stephen and I'm the Acting Manager at Kids Planet Heaton Mersey. I started working in Early Years back in 2014 as an apprentice and have held a variety of positions in different nurseries since then.
I love Early Years. The sparkle in a Preschooler's eye when they learn a new skill, the pure joy of a baby learning to walk, that moment when 2 year olds realise they can cause more mischief in a group than they can on their own... There's no job like it. Every day is different, and every day is a pleasure.
I firmly believe that the best thing we can do for our children is to work together - nursery and family all as one. Nursery should be a home from home for your children and also a place where you are comfortable and welcomed. We value your input and have an open door policy; pop your head into the office and say hi!
I hold a Level 3 qualification in Early Years and am also a qualified SENDCO, PANCO and Communication Champion.
