Kids Planet Blackrod in Bolton has recently completed its makeover after being acquired by Kids Planet. Previously The Owls Nursery, the Blackrod nursery opened in 2012 and became part of Kids Planet in March 2022.
Over the past seven months, the Blackrod nursery has been settling into the group with the help of Kids Planet’s own dedicated Quality team, as well as support from their Area Manager and nearby nurseries, and has completed on its makeover, which has included getting new signage, rooms painted and new flooring, and lots of new resources indoors and outdoors.
The environment is a crucial aspect of Kids Planet’s offering, providing children with the space and resources to play, learn, and explore. Calm environments and neutral spaces are paramount to the Kids Planet ethos, with loose parts and magical items to capture the children’s imagination and curiosity.
“As previously The Owls Nursery, we had a very good repetition within the area, and it was of great importance to us that we maintained that as we transitioned across to being a Kids Planet setting.
We were very lucky to receive such a generous refurbishment, this gave all of our rooms a re-vamp and the children and staff responded well to their enhancing learning environments, and these changes were well received by our parents too.
There have been important and exciting changes for us to get our head around but with the support and guidance we are adjusting to and embracing this. We have worked hard to support and reassure our staff and parents that this change is positive.
It’s been great to see the team embracing the move, and they have been well supported by the company, through the Employee Assistance Programme, employee of the month incentives, bonuses for long standing team members and much more. We are looking forward to what the future holds.”
