Hanford nursery has Kids Planet makeover

Kids Planet Hanford is embracing natural elements in its nursery!

Kids Planet Hanford has recently undergone a makeover after being acquired by the group in December. This setting was previously Hanford Day Nursery, an independent nursery based in Stoke on Trent.

The Hanford nursery has been settling in to the group and this month has completed its full building refurbishment, which has included getting new signage, rooms painted and new flooring, and lots of new resources.

The team is really embracing the newly introduced natural elements. The environment is a crucial aspect of Kids Planet’s offering, providing children with the space and resources to play, learn, and explore. Calm environments and neutral spaces are paramount to the Kids Planet ethos, with loose parts and magical items to capture the children’s imagination and curiosity.

Emma Wilbraham, Nursery Manager at Kids Planet Hanford, said:

“We are all thrilled with the results, and we are now welcoming the process of getting parents back into the rooms, especially following the pandemic. We want that open door, sense of belonging to continue and our parents to feel part of the community.

We have been going through a rigorous development process with the teams, building confidence and ensuring all practitioners are skilled at supporting the children with all new resources, and developing the ethos of ‘environment is the third teacher’.

Our outdoor area is currently being completely ripped out for major makeover, and we are looking to get on board with the Kids Planet outdoor Udeskole accreditation – we can’t wait to add to what is an already amazing nursery over the following months.”
