As Kids Planet are proud sponsors of the Fylde Rugby Community Foundation’s Rugratz Rugby programme, Area Manager and Nursery Manager Lisa Taylor and Hannah Farman were pleased to attend the Rugby Heritage Evening in January, to celebrate the rich culture and heritage of the foundation.
Members of the community and the foundation enjoyed a two-course meal, bar, video presentation and listening to guest speakers including Sir Bill Beaumont. He was one of the first players to be inducted into the World Rugby Hall of Fame, and gave a speech about the importance of the community and how six generations of Beaumont’s have enjoyed playing rugby at Fylde Rugby Club.
“It was a fantastic chance to get together with all partners and sponsors and listen to all the community work provided by the clubs community foundation.
The foundation has an ethos of ‘Rugby for All’ and the club has introduced walking rugby, women’s rugby and wheelchair rugby as well as the Rugratz sessions for 2 to 5 year olds sponsored by Kids Planet.”
The Saturday Rugratz session’s sponsored by Kids Planet ensures rugby is truly for all with free places provided to children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The sessions average 25 children per session and so far have engaged up to 150 children in sessions designed to improve eye to hand coordination and social skills in a safe, fun, sporting environment.
