Last week the Bee in the City auction took place in Manchester to raise funds for the Lord Mayor of Manchester’s We Love MCR Charity.
Having spent the summer dotted around Manchester’s parks and cultural venues, the 77 bees attributed to one of the most spectacular public art events the city of Manchester has ever seen.
But, with designs inspired by football, Coronation Street and renowned Manchester artists, it was one bee designed by Kate Eggleston-Wirtz that caught the attention of Clare Roberts, CEO of Kids Planet Day Nurseries.
“Our motto at Kids Planet has always been ‘working together to inspire your world’. When I saw Bee Inspired in the summer, I was excited about the possibility of making it part of the Kids Planet family. We’re now delighted to make our Salford nursery its full-time home, and we know it’s going to be enjoyed by all the staff and children that come through the doors”.
Bee Inspired represents The University of Manchester whilst the world in its eyes focuses on pulling together and working towards a sustainable future
Over £1 million was raised from the auction which supports We Love MCR Charity’s Stronger Communities; initiatives that bring communities together to celebrate diversity and build stronger relationships.
