It’s time to step into the early years spotlight!

We are proud to announce that we are finalists in TWO categories at this year’s Nursery World Awards, to be held on Saturday 30th September 2023 at The Brewery, London.

This year there are 26 award categories that celebrate best practice and recognise the early years sector’s most important asset – its people. The prestigious awards are open to everyone involved in childcare and education and will highlight the inspirational work that goes on.

Finalists and winners are chosen by a distinguished panel of expert judges that is representative of the diversity of disciplines and organisations that make up the sector. So what have we been recognised for?

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO…

Kids Planet Wallasey who are finalists in the ‘Working with Babies and Toddlers’ category!

For early years provision displaying exemplary practice in caring for and educating the youngest children, meeting their individual needs and supporting their development.

The Kids Planet Wallasey babyhouse is situated in a separate building at the end of the block. It is designed specifically for babies, creating a homely environment. The team are chosen for their aptitude to working with babies and have completed specialist training giving them a deep understanding of the specific, individual needs of babies and their next steps of learning. The nurturing staff give utmost priority to promoting the babies’ welfare and development. All staff have learnt about the importance of nurturing young babies and the key worker system is robust enabling the babies to build strong bonds and attachments with their keyworkers.

Kids Planet SEND Support Team who are finalists in the ‘Inclusive Practice Award’ category!

Open to settings, services or projects that promote equality of opportunity and the best outcomes for all children, families and staff regardless of ethnic origin, special needs, background or disadvantage.

With the vast number of SENDCos, children and families across 163 settings, we believe our SEND support team of three people exceeds expectations every day by improving best practice and maintaining our high standards of care. By having this support function, substantially more children with SEND have been identified and supported, in accordance with the SEND Code of Practice. This has had an immensely positive effect on children with SEND at Kids Planet as all children’s development have been considered and progressed, and all children have been provided with the opportunity for the best educational trajectory. With the SEND team supporting SENDCos and families to secure EHCPs if appropriate, subsequently, more children have been able to access specialist or resource provision.
