Kids Planet Greenbank fundraise for family’s cancer battle

Company News

4 October 2022

The team and families at Kids Planet Greenbank have been raising money for a family who went to the nursery setting, in aid of parent Kaleigh, who has sadly been battling with cancer since 2019.

Kaleigh’s family set up a ‘Go Fund Me’ page to raise as much money as possible to take away any stress she may feel after having to leave her job due to illness. They want to enable her to live the absolute best life possible, complete her bucket list, and have her dream wedding.

The nursery in Liverpool has so far raised over £1,300.00 from their family fun day on 10th September, through a variety of events and activities, such as a bouncy castle, face painting, music sessions enjoyed with hotdogs, slush and popcorn, and even a visit from Woody and Buzz – characters from Toy Story.

The Greenbank team also hosted a raffle, with generous donations from major football clubs Liverpool and Everton. Liverpool FC donated a shirt signed by the first team and football boots signed by Virgil Van Dijk that he wore at the last derby. Everton FC also kindly donated a flag signed by Frank Lampard.

Zoe McGinn, Nursery Manager at KIDS PLANET GREENBANK, said:

“We are so pleased to say that we were able to raise so much money, and we hope this helps Kaleigh, Anthony and Harry during this difficult journey that their family are currently facing. Although the family has left us now for big school, every child and family that passes through Kids Planet Greenbank will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Our family fun day was wonderful, it was very busy with our families and children who attended along with their family and friends and people passing by who came to join in. It was moving to see how the local community responded when our staff and children went around the community to ask for raffle donations, with many of the local businesses offering vouchers and merchandise. We would like to thank everyone for their kind donations, we really wouldn’t have been able to raise such a fantastic amount without your support.”
