KIDS PLANET IS 15 YEARS-OLD!

On 26th September, Kids Planet nurseries across the UK celebrated the company reaching 15 years in September.

Since CEO Clare Roberts set up the company alongside her father in 2008, Kids Planet has grown to over 160 nurseries, responsible for the care of over 20,000 children across the UK. Kids Planet still maintains its original family ethos and children remain the priority.

Clare Roberts, CEO at Kids Planet Day Nurseries, said:

“When I set up the company, it was all about finding high-quality childcare and supporting the families of the team that worked for us, and apart from our growth, not a lot else has changed! For me personally, I’ve got more children and my children are older. My oldest daughter was nine months old on the day Kids Planet was founded, and she is now 16 – so that’s a little scary! It has been fantastic to see how people have progressed within the company over the years. 15 years is a fantastic achievement and I just want to thank all the hard-working team members within Kids Planet, as without them none of this would be possible.”

Our story so far

In the past 15 years, we have won 27 awards and been finalists for a further 18. We have gone from two nurseries to 165, expanded from the North West to Newcastle, Oxford and a good deal in between.

• 2008– Clare set up Kids Planet with her Dad, opening in Warrington and Widnes nurseries.
• 2009– Head Office in Lymm set up
• 2010– Won Start-Up Business of the Year in Warrington
• 2011– Clare’s sister Lucy joined as Childcare Director
• 2012– An amazing year for awards
• 2013 – We reached 10 nurseries
• 2014– We expanded into Manchester
• 2015– We moved West into Liverpool
• 2016– Listed in Manchester’s 50 Fastest Growing Companies
• 2017– We reached 20 nurseries
• 2018– We launched our own Training Academy and celebrated 10 years of Kids Planet
• 2019– Continuing to offer excellent, flexible childcare and winning awards
• 2020– Acquisition of Kids Allowed group
• 2021– Moved South with Oxford acquisitions
• 2022– Surpassed our 100 nursery mark
• 2023– 15^th birthday celebrations!
