Staff and friends of Kids Planet Southport took part in a charity cycle at the nursery to raise funds for Queenscourt Hospice, a local charity that provides support for the people of West Lancs, Southport and Formby.
Raising a total of £200, staff members took it in turns throughout the day to cycle 350km on an exercise bike, the equivalent distance from the nursery on Manchester Road Southport to Buckingham Palace, London.
The charity, which cares for patients with serious illnesses, enabling them to achieve the best possible quality of life at each new stage, was nominated by Kids Planet parent, James Jones, who also ran the London Marathon this year in aid of the hospice.
“We’re delighted to support this amazing organisation and thank everybody for their generous donations and support and even taking the time to join in the cycle”, said Jason Holmes, Nursery Manager Southport.
