We are thrilled to reveal that Kids Planet walked away from the Nursery World Awards on Saturday 25th September as WINNERS of TWO awards: Nursery Group of the Year, and Online and Social Media.
We were also incredibly proud to have been finalists in two additional categories, recognised for our excellence in ‘Enabling Environments’ (our Stretton Nursery), and ‘Inclusive Practice’ (our Beamont Nursery).
Open to everyone involved in early years education and childcare, the Nursery World Awards was held at the Brewery in London, the first live event since 2019 and a fantastic opportunity to celebrate and network with all the dedicated professionals who make our sector thrive.
The awards shone a light on best practice and helped to raise the profile of the sector. Through all the challenges that face them, particularly the last two years with the pandemic and restrictions – dedicated professionals have continued to improve their skills and qualifications and do a fantastic job for young children.
The winners were chosen by a prominent panel of expert judges who have the knowledge and experience to assess each entry according to its objectives and available resources and budget.
Nursery Group of the Year was open to UK nursery groups with three or more settings, and Kids Planet was crowned winner. The group has a growing portfolio of nurseries, currently at 81 throughout the UK.
We have been praised for our dedicated SEND team, internal Training Academy offering Outstanding apprenticeship training, ‘Mindful moments’ activities to support positive mental health, wholesome food choices and carefully considered outdoor environments, amongst many other initiatives.
One judge commented on our “innovation and a clear vision for development. Demonstrable delivery of quality practice, strategy, benefits of scale, attention to staff development and business planning and operation.”
The Online and Social Media category was open to early years providers and services whose website and use of social media is informative, accessible and innovative.
As winners of the award, we were praised for our websites ease of navigation, high quality image and video content, and enhanced customer experience. The company’s use of dedicated accounts for each setting, topical initiatives on a range of platforms, timely updates, resources and advice, were among many of the reasons Kids Planet came out on top.
