Staff at Kids Planet Mansion House Day Nursery were joined by Kids Planet Bradmore Road in fundraising efforts at the weekend, exceeding their target of £150 for Children in Need.
On 20th November, the group took on a chilly 6.4 mile walk from Apsley Road to the John Radcliffe children’s hospital and back again. Staff raised £570 from donations from friends, family, and parents at the nurseries.
Wearing personalised charity T-shirts and fancy dress costumes, staff were joined by their families and the parents of children, some who got involved and others cheering the group on.
Kathy Padfield, Nursery Manager at Mansion House Day Nursery, said: “All the staff are so happy with how much we have been able to raise. Speaking on behalf of Bradmore Road and us here at Mansion House, we feel very privileged that all children’s basic needs are met and that they are in a loving environment both here and at home, however we wanted to give back to those who need more support across the UK.
The pandemic has been a demanding time for all families and staff but it has been amazing to come together, socialise, and do something as part of a team. Thank you to all of the families for all their continued support and donations throughout the last few weeks.”
Children in Need is a BBC charity with a mission to help ensure every child in the UK is safe, happy, secure, and has the opportunities they need to reach their potential. They raise money throughout the year and in an annual November appeal.
They also fund local charities and projects who help remove the barriers that are facing children and young people, so that they can thrive.
