#TeamTristan – raising funds for The Healing Little Hearts Charity

Following the sad death in 2018 of Tristan Campbell who attended Kids Planet Higher Broughton, Tristan’s father and uncle have cycled Scotland’s NC500 route to raise funds for The Healing Little Hearts Charity, a UK based registered children’s charity that provides free heart surgery in developing parts of the world.

Along with Team 1C, a group of parents whose children have spent time on ICU or Ward 1 (the cardiac ward at Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool) have raised money in a bid to change the lives of children born with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) in countries where lifesaving surgeries aren’t readily available.

“Tristan was given a fighting chance at life thanks to the incredible team at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. He showed us his parents, how to do life. He loved every second of it. He was a happy, chatty boy who was full of excitement. There was no stopping him from having fun. He truly was the best ever “, explained Tristan’s mum.

The cycle ride took 8 days to complete and has raised an amazing £7000 which will fund a whole camp providing at least 8 children with much needed heart surgery.  As a group, Kids Planet were delighted to be able to sponsor the ride helping the family to raise these much-needed funds for young children with heart defects across the world.
