Kids Planet Testimonials

Clare Russell, former owner of Early Days Nursery, said:

“My beloved Early Days Nursery has been a part of me for over 20 years. I knew the time was right but the decision to sell is one of the hardest I have ever had to make. I thank Kids Planet for their empathy and support from the moment we met and throughout this process. My priority was to find a buyer with similar values, ensuring our amazing staff and children are in the safest hands possible – Kids Planet are the best choice for this and I am confident the nursery will continue to thrive as part of their group.”

Joy Devendra, former owner of Little Treasures Academy, said:

“After an incredible journey of 15 wonderful years, I am filled with mixed emotions as I pass the baton of Little Treasures Academy into the capable hands Kids Planet. Over the years, Little Treasures Academy has gone from strength to strength and has been a labour of love. I’ve witnessed countless children take their first steps, say their first words and develop into curious, bright individuals. The bonds created between our team, families, children and community are priceless and I will cherish them. As I bid farewell to this wonderful chapter in my life, I have every confidence Kids Planet have the right vision, values and ethos to guide this nursery into its next chapter. It has truly been a pleasure to work with Kids Planet through this transition, in particular their communication, professionalism and understanding has made the process less daunting. Kids Planet’s passion for early childhood education, dedication, and vision for the future are clearly evident. I wish the team and Kids Planet all my best wishes.”

Penny Virdee, former owners, said:

“After nearly 11 years of dedicated service, I am pleased to announce the successful transition of The Learning Journey group to Kids Planet. I founded the business with a commitment to meet the unique needs of children, particularly our beloved daughter, Maiya. I wanted to make a real difference and address the significant gap in care for children with additional needs.

The Learning Journey is something my family and I are deeply proud of and choosing the right buyer to hand our legacy to was extremely important. Kids Planet shares our ethos and is the perfect partner to carry our mission forward. Collaborating with Kids Planet through the process has been a pleasure and I thank them for making it as smooth as possible.

I step away with immense gratitude and optimism. I couldn’t have chosen a better company for this new chapter, and I am confident that under Kids Planet’s guidance, my team will continue to deliver the highest standard of care.”

Lesley and Angus Thompson, former owners, said:

“Having owned High Bank for over 20 years, the decision to sell was not easy and we needed to find someone with the same ethos and standards that we have worked so hard to achieve. From the moment we were introduced to Kids Planet we never looked back. Communication was strong from the start and we were confident in dealing with an honest buyer with a work ethic very similar to ours. This made us feel very comfortable that I we were leaving our legacy in safe hands. We also knew the staff would be well looked after and the parents in turn would have a seamless journey. We wish Kids Planet High Bank every success for the future.”

Tina Muscatelli, former owner of Marigold, said:

“After 26 years of building Marigold Day Nursery into the wonderful and well-loved setting that it is, the time has come for me to retire. My number one priority was to hand over the reins to the right new owner who could take the nursery forward, whilst retaining the same values and homely feel that are so important to our families. I believe that Kids Planet are the best choice for this. I am confident that the amazing staff and children at Marigold are in the safest hands and that the nursery will continue to thrive.”

Rachel Hill, former owner of Hillside Childcare, said:

Hillside Childcare has been a huge part of my life so it was incredibly important for me to find the right home for my settings when the time came. There was a warmth with Kids Planet from the very beginning, and I thank them for their support through every step of the process. Most importantly, they genuinely care about my teams and the families we serve which has reinforced my belief that Hillside will continue to flourish in their care.”

Jill Jones, former owner of Giggles & Wiggles, said:

“Having owned Giggles & Wiggles for over 18 years, selling them was always going to be a difficult decision and so I was keen for the process to be as straightforward as possible. The Kids Planet team communicated well from the outset, handled everything sensitively with compassion, and in a timely manner. Kids Planet provided valuable insight and guidance throughout and demonstrated real empathy and thought for our teams and parents. This provided welcomed reassurance and I am confident the nurseries are in safe hands.”

Dr Jane Todd, former owner of Do Re Mi nursery, said:

“Do Re Mi has been a very important part of my family’s life. We set it up from scratch, all our three children have attended, we have expanded twice, achieved an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted and awarded the Curiosity Approach Accreditation. I am so proud of these achievements and in particular the amazing team who are so hard-working and passionate about early years education.

It has been an incredibly hard decision to pass on the baton but we know we found the right buyer in Kids Planet. From the outset, Kids Planet put us at ease and we are confident they are the best people to continue the high-quality care and education that has been instilled, look after our team and families, and take the nursery to the next level.”

Andrea and Julian Mitchell, former owners of Lawley and Apley Village Day Nurseries, said:

“We are very grateful for all the incredible memories at Lawley and Apley Village Day Nurseries. Selling was a difficult decision as the nurseries are such an enormous part of our lives but we feel blessed that it is Kids Planet taking over the reins. Kids Planet have strong values that resonated with us.

They will run the nurseries as a big family with a real focus on the very best childcare. We know we have left the settings and teams in the best possible hands. The Kids Planet team have made an overwhelming process a lot easier, being approachable and professional at every step of the way.”

Peter and Alex Thompson, former owners of Children’s Choice nursery group, said:

Our most important criteria, if any sale was to take place, was knowing our fantastic managers and teams would be secure in their roles and that our childcare settings would continue their high quality childcare provision. From the moment Kids Planet expressed an interest and we met them, they were receptive and aligned to this, assuring us that all staff would be safe and welcomed.

They clearly recognise the benefit of maintaining all the great things our settings already do. Kids Planet is family founded and operated, maintaining a personal touch despite being large – again very important to us. During this process we have been extremely impressed by the professionalism and approachability of the Kids Planet team. We feel safe in the knowledge we are leaving our wonderful team in very capable hands with a bright future.

Jo Maltby, former owner of Willow Brooke nursery group, said:

“Willow Brooke has been my life for so many years and deciding to sell was a tough decision. For me, it was extremely important that the two settings went to someone that would carry on the same ethos and values that I have embedded into my team. From the moment I met Kids Planet, I knew they were the perfect fit and this has only been reinforced by their approach and support throughout the whole acquisition process.”

Kate and Andrew Plews, former owner of Sunbeams, said:

“Our focus with Sunbeams was to develop its people, with a culture of learning, where strong leadership, knowledge and autonomy could flourish. We are proud of what is a truly inspirational team delivering outstanding childcare and environments, which builds excellent foundations for life-long learning.

Finding the right home for Sunbeams was incredibly important to us. We chose Kids Planet because they have the same values and ethos, with the capability to further develop the team and deliver high quality childcare.”

Craig Jackson and Nadine McCarthy, former owner of Kings Park, said:

“Due to changes in personal circumstances we made the tough decision to take Kings Park Day Nursery to market. Being close to many of the staff, some of whom had been with the nursery since inception over 14 years ago it was extremely important to us that this process would be handled with great care, with the children, their families and staff being at the forefront of any process.

From initial discussions, it was clear that Kids Planet had a similar ethos and understanding, putting the children’s’ and team’s needs at the heart of their focus. Being a predominantly family-owned nursery group, their commitment to high quality childcare gave us the peace of mind that they will continue to build on and maintain the high standards we have strived to achieve.

Throughout the process, Kids Planet have lived up to and exceeded our expectations. We are confident the nursery is in the best hands. I would like to congratulate them on their continued success and wish them all the best for the future.”

Aidan Simpson, former owner of Ducklings Day Nursery, said:

“Selling our nursery was a very difficult decision because we had invested a great deal of time, energy and emotion into making it the best possible setting. It was important that any subsequent owner should have a similar level of commitment. Kids Planet is a family run company that is very much nursery-focused, so it felt like a natural successor that we could trust to look after the staff and children into the future.

Business transactions are inevitably quite demanding processes, but the team at Kids Planet helped to make it a pleasure. They were very responsive, approachable, and professional throughout. We wish them every success taking the nursery forward.”

Simeon Singer, former owner of Angels Day Nursery, said:

“During the past 7 years I have been fortunate to be the owner and guardian of this wonderful nursery and I’ve put a huge amount of personal energy, time and money into improving the facilities to ensure that the team provides the highest standards of care and education for the children in our care. I made the decision to sell Angels Day Nursery to allow me the time to focus on my business interests outside of the childcare sector.

After a very careful selection process I decided to sell the nursery to Kids Planet given their ethos as a primarily family-run and highly regarded childcare operator. It was a genuine pleasure to deal with the team at Kids Planet and I wish them every success in the future as they look to build on the nursery’s fantastic local reputation.”

Lorna Meredith, former owner of Clockwork Day Nursery, said:

“Making the decision to sell ‘my baby’ was the hardest I have ever had to make! I have spent the last 20 years of blood, sweat and tears building the Clockwork name and the best team which has resulted in a very successful small group with a fantastic reputation. It was extremely important to me to find the ‘right fit’ as a buyer who could sustain investment going forward, maintain high standards of childcare for our families and continue to develop our teams.

I know the settings are in very capable hands with Kids Planet who, even though a large growing group, still have a family centred ethos and approach. They have been straight-forward and collaborative throughout the whole acquisition process and I wish them every success with these settings as part of their group.”

Alison and Steve Pickering, former owners of Daisies, said:

“Deciding to sell our beloved Daisies was by no means easy. However, as soon as we met Kids Planet and understood their values, we knew they would keep our nurseries safe, fun, family places for future generations to enjoy. Their passion is very clear and everyone we have been in contact with through the process has been amazing. We wish the team and Kids Planet all the very best.”

Tina McLachlan, former owner of Carrington Day Nursery, said:

“I would like to congratulate Kids Planet on acquiring Carrington. The setting has a real passion for doing what is best for the children, and I am confident that the team and our families will be in safe hands. The decision to sell wasn’t easy and my pre-conceptions of a sales process were very daunting. The reality is that, whilst it was still an emotional rollercoaster for me, the process was helped enormously by Kids Planet’s professionalism, calmness and approachability. I felt supported every step of the way and I thank them for making it so smooth. I chose Kids Planet because it was clear they shared our values for high quality childcare and I look forward to seeing the nursery go from strength to strength as part of their group.”

Ajeet Chadda, former owner of Choice Childcare, said:

“Running and growing Choice Childcare over the past decade or so has been a huge part of our lives, and it was never going to be an easy decision to handover the reigns to anyone. However, from the moment we met the Kids Planet team, we knew they were the right people to take the business forward and to the next level. They were a pleasure to deal with from the outset and we wish them every success in establishing presence in the North East.”

Alison and Brian Pulleyn, Former owners of Kinderbear Nursery, said:

“Selling our beloved Kinderbear was always going to be a wrench for us after 20 years in business, we never doubted that. However, from the moment we met Kids Planet we felt an instant warmth. Despite being large, they have maintained a family values ethos that is close to our hearts and something we have always been proud of with our own nursery.

We were delighted to agree a deal and they delivered on their word – the whole sale process ran smoothly and we felt supported throughout. We are certain we found the right home for Kinderbear and it will continue to grow and flourish under Kids Planet. We wish them every success!”

Clare Smith, previous owner at Church House Day Nursery, said:

“Allowing Church House to be taken on by another provider was a very hard and emotional decision as it has been loved and cherished in my family, and especially by me, for 40 years and it is very much my Mum’s legacy.

Therefore, it had to be an established, highly reputable company who will continue to lovingly nurture it, with the same attention to high quality care and education, and where the children, families and staff remain at the centre of the setting. I believe Kids Planet has this same ethos and I trust they will allow Church House to live on with its own history and flavour whilst encapsulating it within their own high-quality brand”.
