About Us

Kids Planet West Bridgford

Kids Planet West Bridgford is a welcoming nursery in an easily accessible area of Nottingham, offering high-quality early years education and care for children from 6 weeks to 5 years. Our spacious, well-designed rooms are tailored to support each age and stage of development, while our fantastic outdoor spaces, including an allotment and nature-inspired learning zones, encourage curiosity and physical play. We’re proud of our community-focused ethos, taking part in local projects, environmental initiatives, and charity events. Baking, growing, and hands-on learning are part of everyday life here, helping your child build confidence, creativity, and a strong sense of the world around them.

Alison Putnar

Manager

Alison Putnar is the nursery manager; she founded the nursery in September 2012 and stayed on as manager following the take over by Kids Planet. She is NNEB qualified and has over 30 years experience of working in childcare, working in local authority family centres and for 12 years as an Ofsted inspector. Alison has 2 children of her own which gives her comprehensive understanding of issues relating to separation, being a parent and finding high quality childcare.

Outdoor spaces for real discovery

Back to Nature

Our nursery offers a variety of dedicated outdoor areas designed to help children reconnect with nature. From our hands-on allotment to our Udeskole-inspired learning zone, children are free to explore, investigate, and experience real-world learning. They climb tree trunks, balance along natural beams, and even use real tools under close supervision, developing physical skills, confidence, and resilience as they play and learn in the great outdoors.

Learning through giving back

Community and Planet

We’re passionate about nurturing caring, environmentally aware little ones. From learning about bees and taking part in No Mow May to making cards for local heroes, we embed kindness and sustainability into everyday experiences. Our children love getting involved in litter picking and field tidy activities, helping them understand the importance of looking after their community. As a team, we also lead by example, proudly raising £1,600 for Cancer Research UK through the Race for Life in June 2025.

Follow us on Facebook to keep up to date with the amazing things we’re doing to help our local community.

Baking and Growing

Baking is a much-loved part of nursery, we grow our own produce in our allotment and use it to make tasty treats like pumpkin pies and apple bakes. Whether they’re crafting their own pizzas or baking for seasonal celebrations, children gain valuable life skills, explore new tastes, and grow in confidence. These hands-on experiences spark curiosity and creativity, turning everyday moments into rich learning opportunities.
