Building bridges between the youngest and oldest members of our community to foster empathy and joy.
We live in a society where the care of children and the elderly are increasingly separated by distance and time. As a result, opportunities for these two age groups to interact can be limited. However, research shows that bringing children and older adults together in a daycare setting creates incredible assets, both physically and mentally, for everyone involved.
Studies highlight significant improvements in language development, reading skills, and self-esteem. By sharing stories with elders, children develop deep empathy and a natural concern for the well-being of others, often showing great care and patience when moving around their older friends.
Visits from children help residents feel part of a community again, boosting self-worth and communication. Social interaction has been shown to decrease loneliness, delay mental decline, and even improve physical health issues like blood pressure.
Many Kids Planet nurseries have developed wonderful relationships with local care homes. Here are just a few of our recent visits:
The feedback from our Nursery Managers confirms a real sense of positivity around learning through generations. It is a magical experience that teaches our children the importance of caring for one another.

If you are part of a local care home and would like to build a link with one of our nurseries, we would love to hear from you.
