An informal call to understand your background and aspirations.
- Formal Interview
A structured, values-based interview to explore your skills, experience, and passion for early years.
- Practical Interview
A hands-on session in one of our settings so you can experience our environment, and we can see your approach in action.
- Job Offer
If successful, you’ll receive a formal offer to join us as a directly employed colleague of Kids Planet Day Nurseries.
- DBS & References
We carry out enhanced DBS checks and gather professional references to maintain our high safeguarding standards.

Before stepping into your role, you’ll complete a comprehensive induction designed to give you the confidence and knowledge to thrive.

Robust Induction Programme
Our induction sets the foundation for a confident, well-supported start. Every new colleague takes part in a detailed induction covering all aspects of early years care, safeguarding, and how we work at Kids Planet.
Delivered through a blend of face-to-face training, e-learning, and in-nursery support, the induction includes:
- Safeguarding Children
Training aligned with Working Together to Safeguard Children and the EYFS Statutory Framework, including how to identify and respond to concerns and how to escalate issues to our Designated Safeguarding Leads.
- Safer Sleep Guidance
Clear, practical training based on the latest guidance from The Lullaby Trust to ensure the safe sleep of babies and young children.
- Health and Safety
Covering daily safety routines, risk assessments, accident procedures, infection control, and fire safety.
- Policies and Procedures
A full introduction to our core policies, including behaviour support, administering medication, equality and inclusion, whistleblowing, and confidentiality.
- Child Development and EYFS
A grounding in the EYFS framework and key child development milestones to help you support each child’s unique learning journey.
- Professional Responsibilities
Guidance on maintaining professionalism, safeguarding confidentiality, and building strong relationships with children, families, and teams.
- Nursery Induction
A tailored introduction to your specific setting—its team, routines, children, and culture—so you feel welcome and prepared from day one.
