Outdoor Learning

Nature-based approach

Outdoor learning helps children explore, build confidence and develop a lasting connection with nature.

Nurturing excellence through exploration

Some of childhood’s most important moments happen outdoors. Climbing, digging, splashing and discovering all help children make sense of the world around them.

Our approach is inspired by the Scandinavian philosophy of Udeskole, or ‘outdoor school’, where nature becomes an extension of the learning environment.

Through our own award-winning Udeskole approach, practitioners build the skills and confidence to create meaningful outdoor experiences that support children’s development and wellbeing.

Learning without walls

The outdoors gives children space to ask questions, solve problems, take managed risks and discover what they’re capable of.

Our practitioners know when to guide, when to challenge and when to step back, helping children learn through curiosity, movement and experience.

Growing confidence for life

Outdoor learning helps build confidence, independence, resilience, teamwork and creativity.

These are skills children carry with them beyond the nursery garden, helping them approach new experiences with curiosity and self-belief.

Every adventure has a purpose

Outdoor learning isn’t something we simply fit into the day. It’s an important part of how children learn, grow and flourish.

By combining meaningful outdoor experiences with expert early years practice, we help children build a lasting love of learning and connection with the world around them.
