Kids Planet North Wingfield

Kids Planet North Wingfield is a purpose-built nursery on the corner of Chesterfield Road and The Green, designed to offer a warm, stimulating environment for children aged 0–5. Split over two levels, the nursery has three large, spacious rooms and two secure outdoor play areas, providing plenty of space for learning, play, and exploration.

We are proud to be Udeskole accredited, making outdoor learning an integral part of our approach. With free-flow access to our gardens, children take part in activities like firepit cooking, woodwork, and creative projects such as hapazome, supporting curiosity, resilience, and confidence in nature.

Alongside this, we maintain strong links with our local community, from welcoming emergency services into nursery to our weekly “womble” sessions that encourage children to care for their environment. Trips into the community are also an important part of our curriculum, giving children real-world experiences and memories that bring learning to life.

Sophie Hoyland is the Nursery manager for Kids Planet North Wingfield. She holds a level 3 qualification in Childcare and Equation and has been with the nursery since it opened.
