Two of Kids Planet Billinge’s Early Years Practitioners ‘braved the shave’ on 3rd March, in solidarity with a brave child who has been at the nursery since she was a baby and is currently undergoing treatment at Alder Hey Hospital.
Ian Liptrot and Rachael Bromilow allowed their colleagues to shave their heads for a cause that is close to the team’s heart. The whole nursery is passionate about raising money for the ward and a Just Giving page has been set up, with a huge £1075 already raised at the time of writing.
The Wigan nursery has several more events coming up. On Thursday 24th March, there will be a princess and superhero Fun Day, and Preschool will go on a walk to collect donations in the local community. On top of that, some members of the staff team are preparing for a sponsored Snowdon climb on Saturday 25th June.
Mel Fitzpatrick, Nursery Manager, said: “I am so proud of my team for their enthusiasm, resilience and selflessness throughout the fundraising so far. Ian and Rachael are an inspiration, and what an amazing example of inclusive practice.
We are so excited to continue raising money for the amazing staff and children on the ward at Alder Hey, who are taking such amazing care of our Preschool friend.”
