Located in the heart of Bolton, the Kids Planet Blackrod nursery has close community links, and has recently focused on giving back within their area.
The team at Bolton has been collecting for the Trussell Trust, a charity that provides emergency food and support to people locked in poverty, and campaign for change to end the need for food banks in the UK.
They took over four shopping bags worth of food, toiletries and dry goods that were on the recommended list from Trussell Trust, with the help of kind donations from parents.
Chloe Hallworth, Nursery Manager at Kids Planet Blackrod, said:
“Our children had been focusing on being kind and how we can help others so it was a great way to incorporate our learning from this; the children left with a really good understanding of the impact that our visit made and the people that we helped.
We have had such a good response from this and it was a lovely experience – we are definitely looking forward to organising another trip soon.”
