Our Greenbank Park Nursery Team Up With The Newborn Wool Appeal

Kids Planet Greenbank Park have been collecting wool donations for The Newborn Appeal based at Liverpool Womens Hospital Neonatal Unit. The nursery created a collection/donation point in the nursery reception for staff, children and parents to donate wool. The knitters required full balls of double knit yarn to make cardigans, booties, hats and blankets. The items are then sold on a stall, based within Liverpool Women’s Hospital reception area, with all proceeds going towards the Neonatal Unit.

The children went along to the hospital to meet the stall holders and donate their collected wool. They also got to see what lovely items will be made with their wool donations. Amber Humphreys, nursery manager, said “The nursery arranged the wool donation/collection because a lot of our children and parents have used the facilities in the Neonatal unit at the Women’s Hospital. It is a wonderful charity that we are proud to be a part of and help as much as we can going forward.”

The nursery will continue to collect wool for the Newborn appeal, so any donations from the public are very welcome to be dropped off at the nursery.

Their fantastic idea of setting p a wool donation point at the Nursery means that we can continue to provide our volunteer knitters with wool so we can continue our knitting scheme that brings in funds for the Neonatal Unit here at Liverpool Women’s.
