Lytham Lodge Ofsted Outstanding nature-based nursery!

The team at Kids Planet Lytham Lodge, in Lytham Saint Annes, is delighted to have been awarded ‘Ofsted Outstanding’ in all areas following their recent inspection – and have completed their outdoor learning journey to become an Udeskole nursery.

The Ofsted Outstanding Report revealed how ‘’Children rapidly build relationships with staff. They are provided with cuddles in abundance when they need reassurance”, and that “All children, including those who are new to the setting, are calm and content.”

The report highlights the settings passion for staff development, stating “The setting is relentless in its drive to maintain exceptional standards and to continuously improve. It supports staff in developing their knowledge and skills. Leaders are meticulous at monitoring the impact of this.‘’

The report also highlights that “The setting ensures that all children access an ambitious curriculum. Children experience a range of outings and are immersed in experiences that they may not otherwise encounter. Opportunities to consolidate prior learning and embed knowledge are seamlessly woven into each step of children’s learning.‘’

Kids Planet Lytham Lodge have also recently transformed into a nature-based nursery after having achieved the Udeskole approach, Kids Planet’s unique outdoor learning programme.

“The Lytham Lodge team have a real passion for implementing Udeskole into the nursery and taking part with the children. The team have worked on developing outdoor play and provision with longer term plans to develop the spaces further.

The children have embraced learning new skills and thrive on taking those appropriate risks when using tools and playing around the fire. The children have a wide range of opportunity to explore their local community, heading out to the local ‘witches wood’ to take part in woodland walks and tree climbing, the children visit Lytham Hall to take part in planting flowers and plants and re-visiting to see how they have grown.”
