Overview
About Blackrod
Kids Planet Blackrod gives children space to follow their ideas in a refurbished historic building in Bolton. Outdoors, our large play areas offer water and sand exploration alongside imaginative play. Indoors, reading areas give children somewhere quieter to spend time with a story.
Our Nursery Manager has worked here since 2013 and values close relationships with families. Our team builds on your child’s interests, helping them learn through the play they enjoy. Good transport links and parking make daily visits easier, and an earlier 7am start is available at an additional charge for families who need it.

Kaylee Ramsdale
ManagerI joined the nursery in August 2013, when it was formerly known as The Owls Nursery, beginning my journey as a practitioner in the baby room. I progressed through my career and was promoted to Nursery Manager in January 2019. I hold a degree in Early Childhood Studies and Social Policy and have over 18 years’ experience working within the Early Years sector. I am particularly passionate about building strong parent partnerships and enjoy welcoming new families and working collaboratively to ensure every child thrives during their nursery experience.
Adventures Beyond the Classroom
Bringing Learning to Life with Outdoor Play
At Kids Planet, we believe the great outdoors is one of the best learning environments. Our unique nature-based learning encourages children to explore, take on new challenges, and develop essential life skills through hands-on outdoor experiences. Whether it’s discovering wildlife, growing vegetables, or engaging in active play, we provide endless opportunities for children to learn, grow, and thrive in the natural world.
