Kids Planet Stafford is a warm and welcoming nursery that first opened its doors in 2002. Located on Lammascote Road, the setting is ideally placed for parents working in town or living in the surrounding residential areas. Our large, purpose-designed building features three bright indoor playrooms and extensive outdoor areas, including sheltered spaces, giving children the freedom to explore, play, and learn in all weathers.

Our team focus on capturing each child’s natural sense of wonder, turning everyday interests into meaningful learning experiences. Whether they’re engaged in outdoor adventures or creative play indoors, children are supported to grow in confidence as part of the wider Kids Planet family. Mealtimes are calm and sociable, with tablecloths, gentle music, and opportunities for conversation, turn-taking, and independence.

We invest heavily in our people, with a dedicated team committed to reflective practice and continued professional development. This ensures a safe, nurturing environment where children develop the independence, social confidence, and emotional maturity needed for school and beyond.

My name is Jade and I am privileged to be the manager at Kids Planet Stafford. I am dedicated to ensuring both children and their families receive the highest standards of quality care. I hold a level 3 qualification in childcare and bring over a decade of experience in the childcare sector, more than 9 of those years have been in management roles. I am passionate about continuous professional development, both for myself and for my team, to ensure we stay at the forefront of best practices in child development and care.

Hannah Mateer

Manager

I have over 20 years’ experience within the Early Years sector having started as a college student and worked my way up to management. I have completed my Early Years Foundation Degree and Level 5 in Leadership and Management, and am the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the nursery.

As a parent of three children myself, I can fully understand the emotions all parents go through leaving their little ones in other people’s care. As a Manager I am here to fully support parents and staff in settling your little ones into nursery and ensuring a smooth transition. I am passionate about the importance of early education and the biggest privilege is being able to watch children thrive in their learning and development.

We provide freshly prepared, nutritious meals and snacks, catering to all dietary needs to keep little ones fuelled for a day of learning and play. With sports activities to support physical development and the Famly app for real-time updates, we ensure every child gets the best start in a safe, nurturing environment.

From constructing waterway systems to building hammocks and fairy fires, our preschoolers have been busy learning through hands-on adventure. Whether testing out pipes and angles to guide water, mastering knots to build shelters in the woods, or showing perseverance while lighting their own mini fires, our little ones are building confidence, teamwork, and curiosity every step of the way. Outdoor learning encourages creativity and connection to nature, skills that will stay with them for life.
