Mother’s Day is a time to honour the incredible mums, grandmothers, and mother figures who bring so much love into our lives.
It’s a day for appreciation, heartfelt moments, and making memories together. At Kids Planet, we believe every day is a reason to celebrate mums—but on Mother’s Day, we go the extra mile. This year, our nurseries have been busy creating magical moments to help little ones show their love. Read on to see our highlights and get inspired by easy activities to try at home!
Our toddlers and their mummies enjoyed a wonderful morning of laughter and creativity. From arts and crafts to sensory play, little ones loved showing their mums their favourite nursery activities. It was a heartwarming start to the celebration!

Yoga & Treat Bags: The children loved showing mummies their yoga moves with “Bendy Wendy”! Thanks to local business donations, we were also able to send mums home with extra special treat bags and vouchers.
Breakfast Celebration: We started the day with fresh fruit, pastries, and orange juice. It was a warm, welcoming morning and a great chance for mums and little ones to chat and relax together.
Our Pre-Schoolers hosted a “Love-Themed” afternoon for mummies and grandparents. The highlights included:
Love Potion Tray: A sensory tray filled with “magical” ingredients for mixing.
What I Love About Mummy: Sweet, dictated messages from the children.
Love Heart Hunt: A fun counting game to find hidden hearts! 🥰
Sensory play with a sprinkle of love at Great Sankey ❤️🌸
Mother’s Day is about quality time. If you’re celebrating at home, these simple activities are perfect for toddlers and pre-schoolers to make the day feel extra special.
Set up a craft station with paper, stickers, and crayons. Try a Handprint Heart (paint hands and press them together) or a Collage of Love using magazine cutouts that remind your child of Mum.
Even toddlers can help! Let them layer a Fruit & Yoghurt Parfait or use heart-shaped cookie cutters to make Jammy Toast. It’s a fun way to get them involved in the kitchen.
Go on a “Treasure Hunt” walk. Collect small wild flowers, leaves, or feathers to create a Memory Jar or a hand-picked bouquet to display at home.
Capture a moment in time with non-toxic paint. Create Footprint Butterflies or a “Mummy & Me” print where your handprint sits underneath your child’s to show you growing together.
Move, groove, and giggle! Try a game of Freeze Dance or Bubble Pop Boogie. It’s a fantastic way to share a laugh and burn off some energy together.
Whether it’s a handmade craft, a heartfelt hug, or a giggle-filled dance party, what matters most is spending time together. How ever you celebrate, take the time to soak up the joy—these are the moments that last forever.
