About Us
Kids Planet Abergele
Kids Planet Meithrinfa Abergele is located on Llanfair Road close to the Town centre, offering convenient onsite parking for drop off and pick up.
Our warm and welcoming Nursery spans two floors, with dedicated Baby and Tot’s rooms on the top floor, our Nursery and Sensory room on the ground floor, and our Pre School and After School Club are based in a newly refurbished outbuilding and cabin, providing a dedicated and stimulating environment for the older children. Our highly qualified and nurturing Team ensure children feel secure, inspired and excited to learn.
With a prime location next to Abergele town, children enjoy regular trips to the local park, beach and library. We also have a strong partnership with a local residential home, creating meaningful opportunities for intergenerational friendships and the development of empathy.
The setting benefits from expansive outdoor grounds at the front, side and back, with four distinct garden areas offering a range of textures and sensory experiences. Children take part in daily physical activity, creative outdoor play, and hands on exploration through our mini allotment.
We have recently received our Udeskole accreditation, strengthening our commitment to learning through the outdoors. Our practice is guided by the Udeskole approach, embedding outdoor learning throughout our curriculum. We prioritise natural resources and meaningful, hand on experiences that support sustained shared thinking, problem solving, and deep levels of engagement.
We offer a dedicated space for observing our bug house, enjoying campfire experiences, and holding children’s committee meetings – all of which promote communication, personal and social development, independence and leadership skills.
Our proximity to the coast enhances children’s learning through opportunities to explore natural materials, observe local wildlife and experience marine environments in engaging, age-appropriate ways. Through beach visits, promenade walks and seasonal coastal activities, children develop curiosity, creativity and a lifelong respect for nature.
We have a qualified Team who freshly prepare nutritious meals for children across all our settings, ensuring safe, healthy and delicious food every day.
Every week, our tot’s and babies enjoy a buggy walk that provides fresh air and lots of sensory experiences. We understand the importance of home links and having families fully involved in their child’s journey, so we invite them to join us on these walks. We also hold regular Stay & Play sessions, parent’s breakfasts and open days.
Ellen Davies
ManagerHi, my name is Ellen and I have worked in childcare since completing my Diploma Level 3 in college at 18. I started in pre-school room, was promoted to Baby Room Leader, then worked my way up to Nursery Manager. During this time, I completed my Level 4 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development and Level 5 in Management. In 2017, I had a career change and became a Restaurant Manager, until having my 2 young children in 2022 and 2023. After this I felt I really wanted to get back to doing what I love so I joined Kids Planet in August 2024 and became Nursery Manager of Abergele in January 2025. Being a Mum of 2, I bring both personal and professional experience to my role, which I am very passionate about. I love being a part of every child’s journey, and watching their individual personalities shine through. I am really enjoying being part of the Kids Planet Family.
Sharon Davies (Deputy Manager)
ManagerI first joined the company in January 2007 and was based at West End Nursery. I started in the Preschool room but soon moved to the Toddler room. I was first promoted to Baby Room Supervisor, then Nursery Room Supervisor. I was later promoted to Deputy Manager on a maternity cover basis. In 2015, I became Deputy Manager at West End, and in 2016 I took on the role of Nursery Manager (maternity cover). In 2017, I was promoted to Nursery Manager at Abergele, where I was involved in decision-making, purchasing furniture and equipment, and dealing with all enquiries from prospective parents. In 2025, I decided to step down as Nursery Manager to allow more time with my family. I have been fortunate to remain with the company as Deputy Manager.
