About Us

Kids Planet Adswood

Kids Planet Adswood is based in the Abacus Children’s Centre in Adswood, Stockport. With a dedicated and passionate team, our nursery offers four spacious, well-resourced rooms and access to sensory spaces, creating an inspiring and supportive environment for children from babies through to preschoolers. Located close to local amenities such as parks, the library, the train station, and shops, we make the most of our surroundings to provide children with enriching experiences both inside and outside the nursery. We pride ourselves on offering a variety of activities that promote curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning, while ensuring every child feels valued and supported in their early years journey.

Engaging opportunities to inspire every child

Extra-Curricular Activities

At Adswood, we offer a variety of extra-curricular activities designed to broaden children’s experiences and support their development in fun, engaging ways. Current sessions include Rugby Tots, Kiddie Lingo French lessons, Diddi Dance, and music sessions with a parent who visits to sing and play guitar. These activities help children to explore new skills, build confidence, and develop a sense of enjoyment in learning beyond the classroom.

Helping children understand and manage their emotions

Mind Space

Our dedicated Mind Space area supports children in learning how to self-regulate and manage their emotions effectively. Using the Zones of Regulation and the Colour Monsters, children are encouraged to recognise how different emotions feel and explore techniques to help them return to the ‘green zone’, where they feel calm, focused, and ready to learn. This positive approach has created a calmer preschool environment, helping children thrive both emotionally and academically. Mind Space is also an excellent transition tool for those moving on to Adswood Primary, where similar strategies are used to support behaviour and wellbeing.

Connecting learning with the world around us

Trips into the Local Community

We take full advantage of our central location by exploring the local community with the children. From visiting the library and supermarkets to trips to nearby care homes, these experiences help children learn about the world around them while building social awareness and empathy. Each visit sparks conversations, inspires new interests, and creates shared memories.

Follow our Facebook page to see more of our local adventures and the exciting activities the children take part in.
