About Us

Kids Planet Chesterfield

Kids Planet Chesterfield is located in a beautiful, fully refurbished Grade II listed building in the heart of Chesterfield town centre. Established in 2014, our nursery provides early years education and care for children from 6 weeks to 5 years, with easy access to local shops, the library, and train station. We’re proud to be an accredited Udeskole setting, offering nature-based learning experiences that go beyond the classroom. Our nursery also supports families through a dedicated Parent Hub, which includes a swap shop and food bank referral scheme. With strong links to the local community and a focus on outdoor exploration, we provide a warm, nurturing environment where every child can thrive.

Manager

I have working in childcare for over 10 years, from a nursery practitioner, kids club rep to nursery manager. I have been a manager with Kids Planet since 2024 and was the previous Deputy Manager before this. I am currently completing my Level 5 Lead Practitioner qualification through the Kids Planet Training Academy. My favourite thing about working within childcare is building secure bonds with the children and their families.

At Kids Planet, we believe in making life easier for families, which is why our nurseries offer an all-inclusive approach. Our fees cover everything your child needs for a happy, comfortable day, including nappies, wipes, formula milk, and sun cream, so you have one less thing to worry about. We provide freshly prepared, nutritious meals and snacks, catering to all dietary needs to keep little ones fuelled for a day of learning and play. With sports activities to support physical development and the Famly app for real-time updates, we ensure every child gets the best start in a safe, nurturing environment.

At Chesterfield, our children enjoy Udeskole, Kids Planet’s unique approach to outdoor learning. As an accredited setting, we offer rich, hands-on experiences in our dedicated nature space, where little ones explore, play, and investigate the world around them. From climbing and digging to team challenges and storytelling outdoors, every activity helps build resilience, independence, and a connection to nature. Udeskole is about learning in the real world, helping your child grow in confidence and curiosity through meaningful outdoor adventures.

Supportive Parent Hub

We know that supporting children means supporting families too. That’s why our Chesterfield nursery features a welcoming Parent Hub, designed to offer advice and practical resources in a relaxed setting. Our swap shop makes it easy to exchange pre-loved essentials, and we work closely with local services through our food bank referral scheme. Whether it’s chatting through a challenge or sharing tips, we’re here to listen and help however we can.
