Manager

I am the Nursery Manager at Kids Planet Cleckheaton and have over 17 years of experience in early years childcare. I have worked at Kids Planet Cleckheaton, previously Katie’s Kinder Care, since 2013, progressing from Nursery Practitioner to Room Leader and now Nursery Manager. This journey has given me a strong understanding of every aspect of nursery life.

My career began through a work-based apprenticeship, after which I achieved my Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education, alongside Team Leader and Level 3 Management qualifications. I was appointed Temporary Nursery Manager in 2017 before becoming the permanent Nursery Manager in 2020.

As a parent whose child attended the nursery from six months old, I have seen first-hand the positive impact of our nurturing environment and high standards of care. I am passionate about building strong relationships with children, families, and staff, creating a warm, welcoming setting where everyone feels supported.

Ashton Wilbond

Manager

I am the Nursery Manager at Kids Planet Cleckheaton. I began my journey at the nursery as a student while studying at Dewsbury College, which led to a role as a Level 3 Practitioner in the Baby Room in 2015. I progressed to Room Leader, gaining experience across all rooms, while continuing my professional development and graduating with a BA (Hons) in Early Years.

In 2021, I became Deputy Manager and the nursery’s Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo), before being appointed Nursery Manager in 2022 alongside Josie. I am a Level 3 qualified SENCo and am currently completing my Level 3 qualification in Speech and Language for children aged 0–3 years.

I am passionate about providing a warm, ‘home from home’ environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn, helping them achieve the very best start in life.
