Kids Planet George Perkins

Kids Planet George Perkins has been providing exceptional early years care since 1991, giving us a deep understanding of what young children and their families need to thrive.

Based in a beautiful Victorian house in Edgbaston, just on the outskirts of Birmingham city centre, the nursery has been carefully adapted to meet the needs of little ones while retaining its original charm and character. It’s a welcoming, safe space where children are encouraged to explore, learn, grow, and let their imaginations run wild.

Our prime location allows for regular enriching trips to local amenities such as the library, park, conservation centre, and nearby shops. Helping children develop confidence, social skills, and a strong sense of belonging within their community.

I have been a part of George Perkins Nursery for over 13 years. I started as an Early Years Teacher and had various roles before becoming manager. I pride myself on supporting all children and families to build happy, healthy and hope-full lives.

At Kids Planet, we believe in making life easier for families, which is why our nurseries offer an all-inclusive approach. Our fees cover everything your child needs for a happy, comfortable day, including nappies, wipes, formula milk, and sun cream, so you have one less thing to worry about. We provide freshly prepared, nutritious meals and snacks, catering to all dietary needs to keep little ones fuelled for a day of learning and play. With sports activities to support physical development and the Famly app for real-time updates, we ensure every child gets the best start in a safe, nurturing environment.

At Kids Planet George Perkins, our outdoor space is designed to spark curiosity and creativity in every child. From exploring our enchanting fairy garden to building strength and confidence through active play, little ones flourish in our nature-rich garden. With areas for planting, construction, and forest school-inspired activities, children learn through hands-on experiences that support emotional wellbeing, independence, and joy. And with beautiful Canon Hill Park just around the corner, there’s even more opportunity to explore the world beyond the garden gate.

Ready to Read

We help children take confident steps towards school by nurturing a love for stories from the very beginning. Through daily story time, rhymes, mark-making, and exploring books together, we create a language-rich environment where little ones build key communication skills and a deep enjoyment of reading. These early experiences encourage imagination, spark curiosity, and support every child’s confidence as they prepare for their next stage. Families are also invited to join in the journey through our Lending Library, with free books available to enjoy together at home.
