Kids Planet Shepherd Lodge

At Kids Planet Shepherd Lodge, children flourish in a beautifully designed environment that blends creativity, curiosity, and connection to nature. Situated in a characterful Victorian house in St Annes, the nursery provides calm, inspiring rooms and a stunning garden space filled with plants and trees, offering endless opportunities for discovery and exploration.

We are proud to have a dedicated Udeskole outdoor education area, complete with a fire pit, where children learn hands-on skills through real outdoor experiences. Our Udeskole Lead, Joe, and Nursery Manager, Lindsay, are both trained to lead fire-based activities safely, allowing children to cook outdoors, explore risk-taking, and develop independence and confidence.

The nursery also benefits from its own sports coach and a developing allotment area, where children learn about healthy living and the natural world. Trips and outings are a big part of life at Shepherd Lodge — from local adventures to joint outdoor sessions with Kids Planet Ansdell, including sports days at Ansdell Park.

Every space at Shepherd Lodge has been carefully considered, focusing on the finer details that create a sense of calm and inspiration. With a passionate team, strong outdoor ethos, and nurturing approach, Shepherd Lodge offers a truly enriching start to every child’s early years journey.

Lynsey Broughton

Manager

With a passion for early years education that spans nearly two decades, Lynsey is the dedicated and experienced manager of our nursery. She began her career in childcare in 2005 and holds a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies, providing her with a deep understanding of child development.
Lynsey's journey with Kids Planet began in 2010, and we have been proud to see her develop from a passionate student into our esteemed Nursery Manager. At the heart of her leadership is an unwavering commitment to creating a warm, safe, and nurturing environment where every child feels valued and is encouraged to explore, learn, and grow with confidence.
As a mother herself, Lynsey deeply understands the importance of building strong, trusting partnerships with parents. She believes that working collaboratively is the key to ensuring the best possible outcomes for every child, making you an integral part of your child's nursery experience. Lynsey is dedicated to leading her team in providing exceptional care and is always on hand to welcome you and your family into our nursery community.

At Kids Planet, we believe in making life easier for families, which is why our nurseries offer an all-inclusive approach. Our fees cover everything your child needs for a happy, comfortable day, including nappies, wipes, formula milk, and sun cream, so you have one less thing to worry about. We provide freshly prepared, nutritious meals and snacks, catering to all dietary needs to keep little ones fuelled for a day of learning and play. With sports activities to support physical development and the Famly app for real-time updates, we ensure every child gets the best start in a safe, nurturing environment.
