Overview
About Somers House
Kids Planet Somers House welcomes babies through to preschoolers in a purpose-designed nursery in Reigate. Formerly Cavendish Lodge Nursery School, our nursery opened in 2020 and has dedicated baby spaces alongside outdoor experiences for children to explore. Our team follows individual interests and supports learning through play.
Getting to know the adults and children around them helps your child feel comfortable at nursery. Our team offers encouragement as they try new experiences and gives them chances to practise everyday skills for themselves. As school approaches, we build on their development through play and familiar routines, keeping their enjoyment of the day central.

Alice Elliott
ManagerHi, I’m Alice, the Nursery Manager here at Kids Planet Somers House.
I’ve been fortunate to work with children for 14 years, with a particular passion for supporting babies and toddlers. I joined Somers House in March 2020, when the nursery first opened, as the Baby Room Leader. Since then, I’ve progressed through several roles—including Third in Charge, Deputy Manager, and now Nursery Manager—helping to ensure Somers House reflects the warmth, care, and enthusiasm that underpin my approach to early years education.
As a Level 3 qualified SENCo, I’m especially passionate about getting to know each child as an individual and supporting them to reach their full potential. Seeing children grow in confidence, curiosity, and independence is incredibly rewarding, and being part of a family’s early years journey is something I value deeply. I’m also a strong advocate for continued professional development, and I’m currently studying for my Level 7 in Early Years Leadership to further enhance the experiences we offer our children.
Formerly part of Cavendish Lodge Nursery School, we joined the Kids Planet family in November 2025. Throughout these changes, we’ve remained dedicated to maintaining high standards of care and education. I’m proud to lead such a committed team, with children’s well-being at the heart of everything we do.
Adventures Beyond the Classroom
Bringing Learning to Life with Outdoor Play
At Kids Planet, we believe the great outdoors is one of the best learning environments. Our unique nature-based learning encourages children to explore, take on new challenges, and develop essential life skills through hands-on outdoor experiences. Whether it’s discovering wildlife, growing vegetables, or engaging in active play, we provide endless opportunities for children to learn, grow, and thrive in the natural world.
