About Us

Kids Planet Trafford City

Kids Planet Trafford City, formerly known as Kids Allowed, is a modern purpose-built nursery that opened in September 2018. Conveniently located opposite the Trafford Centre, we provide high-quality early years education and care for babies through to preschoolers. Our nursery features secure outdoor areas, thoughtfully designed learning spaces, and a passionate team dedicated to creating a safe, inspiring environment where children can thrive.

We are proud to offer enriching experiences that go beyond the classroom, from tending our allotment and connecting with the local community to enjoying sports and physical activities led by our dedicated coach. At Trafford City, every child is supported to grow in confidence, independence, and curiosity.

Alice Rimmer

Manager

I have been working in childcare for almost 20 years, and I am passionate about supporting children’s early learning and development. After completing my BA (Hons) in Childhood Studies, I went on to gain a wide range of experience across the early years sector. I have worked with Kids Planet for five years previously, and I have also worked as an Early Years Trainer and mentor to other nursery managers, sharing my knowledge and supporting others to create the best possible environments for children to thrive.

Sports and outdoor learning every week

Active Minds, Active Bodies

Our sports coach, Owen, works closely with our over-twos, providing fun, engaging activities that promote physical development. From ball games to movement challenges, children gain balance, coordination, and confidence while enjoying being active. Outdoor learning is at the heart of these sessions, encouraging children to connect physical skills with teamwork, resilience, and a love for the outdoors.

Hands-on learning in our allotment

Growing Together

Our children love tending to the nursery allotment, where they grow fruit and vegetables throughout the year. This not only teaches them about nature and healthy eating, but also builds responsibility and pride as they get to take produce home. We also use our harvest in cooking activities at nursery and share with local food banks and shelters, showing the importance of kindness and giving back.

Exploring Our Community

Thanks to our minibus (and our friendly driver Steve), children enjoy trips to local events and landmarks, extending learning into the wider world. We also welcome visits from local people who share their knowledge and experiences. Our strong link with The Little Green Sock Project allows us to help support families in the local area, teaching children the value of community and care for others.
