Kids Planet CEO Clare Roberts has officially received her OBE from King Charles III. In Summer 2022, Clare found out she had been chosen to receive an OBE for her services to education, an incredible achievement which she attributes to the whole of Kids Planet.
“I was awarded this by Queen Elizabeth II in her last birthday honours list in June 2022. It was a very special experience and I was proud to receive this recognition for the hard work that all my colleagues do within Kids Planet. I had my three daughters with me to share in the experience, which made it even more special,” she said.
The early years sector has seen really challenging times and the pandemic was difficult to navigate. Clare sits on several boards and contributes to meetings to collaborate and make early years better, feeling a real sense of responsibility to support others.
She said: “When I launched Kids Planet in 2008, all I was mostly thinking about was my own childcare issues. I couldn’t have foreseen being a company of this size, or having the voice in the sector that I do, that people listen to. I think it’s important that those who do have a voice use it in the right way, to share experiences and speak up.”
