This week, we are thrilled to introduce TWO new nurseries into the Kids Planet family, with the acquisition of High Bank Nursery in Darlington, and Little Explorers Barrow in Clitheroe!
High Bank is a unique nursery set on a farm in Darlington, with well-thought-out environments, and Little Explorers Barrow is a purpose-built setting with large, stimulating indoor and outdoor areas.

Lesley and Angus Thompson, former owners at High Bank Nursery, said:
“Having owned High Bank for over 20 years, the decision to sell was not easy and we needed to find someone with the same ethos and standards that we have worked so hard to achieve. From the moment we were introduced to Kids Planet we never looked back.
Communication was strong from the start and we were confident in dealing with an honest buyer with a work ethic very similar to ours. This made us feel very comfortable that we were leaving our legacy in safe hands. We also knew the staff would be well looked after and the parents in turn would have a seamless journey. Kids Planet has grown to 167 settings across the UK through a combination of acquisition and greenfield developments. Our focus continues to be acquiring existing nursery settings that fit with our values for the highest quality childcare and seeking development opportunities to build our geographical presence.
