Kids Planet Acquires Leigh’s Nurseries

Kids Planet is excited to announce the acquisition of Leigh’s Nurseries, a group of three settings based in Longbenton, Heddon-on-the-Wall and Gateshead, expanding our presence and offering in the North-East.

Leigh’s Nurseries group pride themselves on providing ‘childcare with a heart’, with staff committed to the highest standards of care, and children’s safety and welfare being top priority. They have created vibrant and inspiring learning environments to make each day fun and fulfilling for the children.

Leigh’s Nurseries opened its Heddon setting in 2004, followed by the Gateshead nursery in 2006, close to the facilities at Gateshead Library and the beautiful Saltwell Park. In 2014, Leigh’s opened its Longbenton nursery, the largest of the three and situated conveniently for Quorum, Four Lane Ends Interchange, The Ministry and Freeman Hospital.

Kids Planet Day Nurseries has grown to 198 settings across the UK through a combination of acquisition and greenfield developments. Our focus continues to be acquiring existing nursery settings that fit with our values for the highest quality in childcare and seeking development opportunities to build our geographical presence.
