Our Warrington Nursery Have Green Fingers

Kids Planet Warrington have teamed up with Groundworks to propose a planting scheme within Warrington town centre. Voting for the project is required and this will allow the nursery to have access to some funding to help with the project if it receives the most votes.

“The funding will set up a planting project in Warrington town centre over a 6-12 month period. Our aim is to create a more appealing and vibrant town centre in which the children can plant and maintain the various flowers, plants and shrubs that we would like to help improve the area. We would also like to explore adding bird feeders and other ideas to attract local wildlife to the area.

We would also explore the option/idea of creating herb gardens/planters and vegetable patches in specific areas of the town centre that people can help themselves to on an ongoing basis.

We hope to help look after green spaces and the children planting and growing flowers.

This will enhance the local area, improve surroundings and to create a nice place to visit and walk around whilst enjoying what the town centre has to offer.

The children who attend Kids Planet would benefit greatly learning how to take care of things and give back to the community. A number of children live in and around Warrington so it would also create a sense of pride when coming in to the town centre to show their family and friends what they have done in the town centre.

The planting project that we are proposing has numerous benefits. The local community, visitors to the town centre, commuters and local business will benefit from us trying to improve the town centre with greener, attractive areas, create a sense of pride within the town and make the areas more appealing and attractive. It would also attract new wildlife and species when we research ideal flowers and plants that would benefit a town centre.”

To vote, you will need to make a purchase within a Tesco store of any value. You will receive one token per transaction and it’s not necessary to purchase a carrier bag in order to receive a token.
