Kids Planet Warrington have been going green in the local community. The nursery have linked with Golden Gates Housing Trust (GGHT) to get the children and staff involved in a community based project on Cromwell Court, just off Arpley Street, in Warrington town centre.
The children have made hanging baskets and planters with bright and colourful flowers to make the communal space and gardens more appealing and colourful for the residents.
By taking part in this project the children have linked with the Early Years Foundation Stage by creating bird feeders and planting flowers and plant to attract bees and other wildlife. This covers an important conservation aspect as well, by creating a wildlife friendly area to attract important wildlife to the area.
Graham Pearce, GGHT Regeneration Officer, said “Working with the children has been great. The simple and fun gardening and conservation project has benefitted everyone involved, including the residents, who can enjoy the marvellous end results”.
Nicola Daniels, Nursery Manager also said “The children and staff have loved getting involved in the local community. They have loved planting some flowers and making the area look nice and bright. As a nursery is important for us to maintain the great links we have in the local community and will continue to do so”.
The nursery is located on Legh Street in the town centre, for more information contact Nicola Daniels, Nursery Manager, on 01925 417 350
