Winners at the NMTs!

We had a wonderful evening celebrating all that is wonderful about Early Years at the NMT Awards on Saturday 25^th November in London.

Not only did we walk away winners of the Nursery Training and Development of the Year Award, we were nominated for seven awards, across our amazing team:

• Group (large) of the Year
• Training Academy – Apprentice scheme of the year
• Kids Planet Billinge Steph Mills Deputy Manager of the Year
• Kids Planet Billinge Steph Mills– Personality of the Year
• Kids Planet Southfield – Beach School of the Year
• Gemma Hughes – Area Manager of the Year
• Udeskole – Training and Development of the Year

Congratulations to Rhiannon Mountain, Michelle Hewitt and Sarah Green from Kids Planet, for winning the Nursery Training & Development of the Year Award for our accreditation ‘Udeskole’ – the Kids Planet approach to outdoor learning and play!

Rhiannon Mountain, Head of Outdoor Learning at Kids Planet, said:

In 2021, Rhiannon Mountain and I talked about how we could ensure the vision and ethos for outdoor learning was interwoven throughout Kids Planet Day Nurseries, and a lot of time, thought, and planning followed. Rhiannon developed our outstanding approach, ensuring the vision was strong and had a clear pathway to enable each setting to flourish on their Udeskole journey. Our outdoor education team are passionate, and true advocates for outstanding provision and practice.

The science that underpins the benefit of time spent outdoors for our children and team cannot be argued with. Not only does Udeskole support our children’s wellbeing and learning outcomes, it does the same for our teams. The nature based ethos is at the heart of our provision and Rhiannon and the team inspire and support leaders and their tribes to embrace all that is outdoors, ensuring they flourish, learn new skills and develop this message across their region and beyond.”
