About Us
Kids Planet Southridge
Kids Planet Southridge is a warm and welcoming wraparound provision based within Southridge First School. Our longstanding, autonomous leadership team is dedicated to nurturing happy, confident, and well-adjusted children, creating a caring and consistent environment that families trust.
Our approach encourages active exploration and gentle challenge, helping children build physical resilience while feeling supported every step of the way. Indoors, children enjoy creative, hands-on activities that spark imagination and curiosity, while outdoors they are encouraged to safely test new skills in a familiar, encouraging space.
Mealtimes also promote healthy habits, with balanced portions and a zero-waste ethos that helps children appreciate the resources around them. Safety and wellbeing are at the centre of our practice, with secure access systems and skilled practitioners creating a calm, supportive environment where children can learn, play, and thrive.

Danielle Watts
ManagerI have worked in childcare since 2008 and hold a BTEC Level 3 qualification in Children’s Care, Learning and Development. I have completed a wide range of additional training, including first aid, SEND, and safeguarding. I chose a career in childcare because I enjoy supporting children through their early years and watching them grow, learn, and express themselves through play. I particularly love seeing the children at Southridge develop over time, from nursery through to our after school club.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and going on family adventures in our caravan with my three daughters. My favourite place to visit is the Northumberland coast. My commitments to our nursery, children, and families are to build strong, trusting relationships with every child, to support families with any questions or concerns they may have, and to encourage children to develop confidence and learn new skills in a safe and nurturing environment.

I have worked in childcare since 2012 and hold Early Years Teacher Status, along with a degree in Children and Young People. I am first aid and safeguarding trained and support the setting in my role as Designated Safeguarding Lead. I chose a career in childcare because I find it extremely rewarding to support children as they grow, develop, and learn new skills.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and going on adventures such as camping, paddleboarding, and visiting National Trust locations. My commitments to our nursery, children, and families are to build strong, trusting relationships with every child, to support families with any questions or queries they may have, and to encourage children to develop confidence and learn new skills in a nurturing environment.
