About Adswood
Based in Stockport’s Abacus Children’s Centre, Kids Planet Adswood welcomes babies through to preschoolers. Spacious rooms and sensory spaces give children opportunities for hands-on discovery, while outings to nearby parks and the library bring new experiences into their nursery day.
Our team adapts activities for children with additional needs, helping each child take part in ways that suit them. Settling-in sessions give your child time to become familiar with nursery and the adults who will care for them. We offer term-time places, and on-site parking and pram storage help with the practical side of getting here each day.

ManagerI am qualified in early years at degree level 6 and have been in childcare for 15 years. I have always had a passion for working with children and have worked my way up gaining experience in different settings across Wales and England. I love my job and promise to provide an environment where your children can become independent, confident, and happy individuals
Mind Space
Helping children understand and manage their emotions
Our dedicated Mind Space area supports children in learning how to self-regulate and manage their emotions effectively. Using the Zones of Regulation and the Colour Monsters, children are encouraged to recognise how different emotions feel and explore techniques to help them return to the ‘green zone’, where they feel calm, focused, and ready to learn. This positive approach has created a calmer preschool environment, helping children thrive both emotionally and academically. Mind Space is also an excellent transition tool for those moving on to Adswood Primary, where similar strategies are used to support behaviour and wellbeing.
