Kids Planet Bluebell Lodge

First established in 1990, Kids Planet Bluebell Lodge nursery is home to a long-standing and passionate team. The popular nursery is situated in two detached single-story buildings within secure grounds of a residential area of Blackpool. There is an extensive outdoor area and well-resourced indoor rooms that are carefully planned and well equipped to maximise the children’s enjoyment of the play and learning environment.

At Kids Planet, we have put together our very own Forest School inspired outdoor learning approach called ‘Udeskole’ that many of our nurseries are training towards and Kids Planet Hoylake has already completed!

Udeskole is a Scandinavian concept that translates to “outdoor school” and is an educational approach to outdoor learning. Udeskole focuses on nature-based learning experiences and encourages children to spend more time outdoors studying local wildlife and plants, directly engaging with nature and their environment and helping them to develop their sense of self.

I have worked at Bluebell Lodge since May 2014, in that time I have worked my way up from Early Years Practitioner, to Room Leader, Third in Charge, Deputy Manager and I have finally achieved my goal of becoming a Nursery Manager in December 2024.

I have a BA Hons in Family Support and Wellbeing as well as a Level 3 in Early Years.

I have a little girl called Forrest, who also attends Bluebell Lodge Nursery, so I am very grateful to be able to still see her whilst I work in the office Monday to Thursday.

In my spare time, I like to make memories with my daughter, as well as going for long walks in the lake district with my partner, Forrest and our Cavapoo Luna. I also love baking, especially baking cookies and decorating birthday cakes for my friends and family.
