About Victoria Hospital
Kids Planet Victoria Hospital provides nursery care exclusively for children of staff working on the Victoria Hospital site in Blackpool. We welcome babies through to preschoolers, with large outdoor spaces where children can play and explore. A dedicated sensory room offers different ways to discover indoors.
Blackpool Zoo is an eight-minute walk away, and we visit regularly so children can see animals first-hand. Our team uses these real experiences to support their interests and learning, with plenty to talk about and revisit through play back at nursery. Being on the hospital site also keeps care close to work for eligible families.

Anne Smithen
ManagerAnne joined Kids Planet with an extensive background in education and early years leadership. She graduated in 1996 with a degree in Biological Sciences and is a qualified teacher with Early Years Teacher Status. Anne also holds a Masters in Professional Practice and a Level 3 qualification in SEND, reflecting her strong commitment to inclusive, high-quality childcare and continuous professional development.
With many years of experience across the early years sector, Anne is passionate about creating inspiring and engaging environments where children can truly thrive. She has recently transformed both Poulton Carr Head and Victoria with beautifully designed outdoor learning spaces and a new sensory area that supports children’s emotional regulation and curiosity.
Anne’s thoughtful leadership and creative vision ensure that her nurseries are not only safe and nurturing but also rich in opportunities for exploration, discovery, and joy.
