Overview

About Hazelhurst

There’s plenty for children to get hands-on with at Kids Planet Hazelhurst, from exploring the mud kitchen to building in the construction area. Our outdoor spaces include a yurt within 0.6 acres, alongside a purpose-built nursery across two floors. Our team shapes experiences around what interests each child.

We regularly reflect on our practice and develop our team’s knowledge, helping us support your child’s next steps as they grow towards school. Freshly prepared meals are part of the day, and the Famly App lets you share in your child’s discoveries. We encourage children to try things for themselves, with support as their skills develop and as they grow in confidence.

  • Emily Fearn

    Emily Fearn

    Manager

I am Level 3 Childcare Qualified and have worked in Early Years settings since 2016. I started in a private day nursery as an apprentice, and when I qualified in 2018, I progressed through Kids Planet, first becoming the Manager at Kids Planet Astley Bridge, Bolton. In June 2023, I moved to Kids Planet Leigh as manager, supporting the acquisition and improving the nursery for the children, families, and staff team.

I have done a variety of training to upskill myself, and I am also Paediatric First Aid Trained as well as a Mental Health First Aider and the Designated Safeguarding Officer. Within my time at Kids Planet, I have faced a lot of challenges, and learnt a lot along the way.

Adventures Beyond the Classroom

Bringing Learning to Life with Outdoor Play

At Kids Planet, we believe the great outdoors is one of the best learning environments. Our unique nature-based learning encourages children to explore, take on new challenges, and develop essential life skills through hands-on outdoor experiences. Whether it’s discovering wildlife, growing vegetables, or engaging in active play, we provide endless opportunities for children to learn, grow, and thrive in the natural world.
