Kids Planet Heywood

Kids Planet Heywood has proudly served the community for over 30 years, centrally located in the heart of Heywood Town Centre. Our nursery offers a warm, homely, and calming environment, featuring a large, stimulating open-plan area and an undercover outdoor space that encourages continuous play, whatever the weather.

We maintain strong community connections, regularly taking the children on enriching walks to local destinations such as the library, garden centre, petting farm, supermarkets, parks, and the Memorial Gardens. These outings support our commitment to experiential learning and help foster a sense of belonging.

Children at Kids Planet Heywood enjoy a wide range of engaging activities, including yoga, football sessions led by professional players, Mini Chefs cooking experiences, and time in our dedicated sensory area. Our sensory garden is a vibrant space where children grow seasonal fruits, vegetables, herbs, plants, and flowers, nurturing both curiosity and care for nature.

We are proud to be close to achieving Udeskole accreditation, with a dedicated outdoor learning area where children safely explore tools, observe wildlife, and develop a love for learning in nature.

Throughout the year, we host themed Stay and Play sessions to celebrate occasions like Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas – and sometimes, just because! These events create joyful memories and strengthen the bond between families and our nursery community.

I have worked for Kids Planet for almost two years. I worked at Hopwood before acquisition for 8 years, where I gained my BA Hons in Early Years Practice, left to work in children's healthcare then had my own children. I came back on a part time contract and because of a well timed opportunity, within a year was manager. I have worked with children for 16 years and am passionate about ensuring our children get the best start in life.
