Overview

About Hopwood

Kids Planet Hopwood has welcomed families since 2002 in a rural setting close to the M62 and M60. Our location is convenient for commuting parents, while children have opportunities for hands-on learning through sensory experiences and active play. A sports coach helps them enjoy movement and practise physical skills building coordination.

Our team adapts care and activities for children with additional needs, considering what helps each child take part. We build on their interests and development, offering support as part of everyday nursery life. We consider what makes an activity accessible to each child, so they can explore alongside their friends.

Meet the Team

    Liza Tierney

    Manager

My name is Liza Tierney, I have worked at Kids Planet Hopwood since 2004, working my way up from new starter to nursery manager. Over the years I have watched hundreds of children learn and thrive in our setting building some strong bonds with our families to ensure the children get best out of their time with us, some of the children have gone on to now have their own children attend the setting, which is amazing to see and be part of. Away from the nursery I enjoy going for picturesque walks with my family and doing every fun day out I can with my own child. We love the outdoors as does our dog Dottie.

Adventures Beyond the Classroom

Bringing Learning to Life with Outdoor Play

At Kids Planet, we believe the great outdoors is one of the best learning environments. Our unique nature-based learning encourages children to explore, take on new challenges, and develop essential life skills through hands-on outdoor experiences. Whether it’s discovering wildlife, growing vegetables, or engaging in active play, we provide endless opportunities for children to learn, grow, and thrive in the natural world.
